Marion Riding Club
Marion Riding Club Inc started as a Pony Club in 1960, joined Horse Riding Clubs Association of SA in 1967 & ran both Pony Club and
Riding Club 1967 - 1971. The Club moved to the beautiful Shepherds Hill Recreation Park in 1970.
In 1971 the club decided to run as a Riding Club only.
We pride ourselves in being a friendly club, welcoming all levels and abilities.
We aim to ride and train our horses in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, with members enjoying the social aspects of horse riding too.
Event days are held throughout the year.
We focus on Working Equitation, a fast growing sport in the eastern states, hoping to establish a greater participation in SA,
as it covers all skills (working horse, dressage, poles, jumping, obstacles, etc) and is a great equestrian sport to develop a fit, balanced happy horse & rider.
Event days- instruction, competition and fun, with an emphasis on WORKING EQUITATION are held on every second Sunday throughout the year.
(obstacles, dressage, training, competitions - WEq: the fun way to train seriously)
Members can enjoy instruction from experienced instructors, or choose to do their own thing on our 'playdays', when many
obstacles are put out to experiment with or just show your horse.
Young horses & inexperienced riders catered for.
We are actively upgrading our grounds to provide a better experience for members. In 2022 we put up new fencing and yards, our next goal is to resurface the arena. PLEASE SUPPORT THE CLUB TO MAKE THESE GOALS A REALITY.
